Miriam Spitzer Franklin - Kid Lit Editorial
Editorial Feedback!
As a 3-time published and agented author, I have learned a lot about the craft of writing AND the craft of preparing your manuscript for submission. In addition to writing, I have also spent many years giving feedback to critique partners and participating in critique groups, along with being a mentor for PitchWars and Author Mentor Match.
The path to publication starts by getting your work in front of an agent. You may be an amazing writer but first you have to grab an agent's attention by writing an irresistible query letter, then hook them with your opening pages.
I'd love to help you make your submission package SHINE!

"Not only is Miriam Spitzer Franklin an accomplished author in her own right, she's also an excellent critiquer/editor. Being character-driven herself, she has a strong sense of what makes a character relatable to readers and how to strengthen that relatability. She's excellent at articulating what's working with characters in addition to finding areas for improvement.
With regards to plot, pace, and tension, Miriam asks all the right questions to hone in on the biggest story structure issues. Having traditionally published three middle grade novels, Miriam has a deep knowledge of the market which translates to exceptional query and synopsis skills. I trust Miriam's suggestions as being grounded in real-world experience. i appreciate her positive approach that tells me what I've done well. Whenever Miriam critiques my work, my revisions always show improvement. Miriam is a fabulous mentor to other writers. I highly recommend all of her services."
